History

With humble beginnings at his kitchen table, Henk Van Bynen, with the assistance of his sister Nellie Grigg, formed the company H&N Services in 2000. This was meant to be a post retirement hobby for Henk, but quickly expanded from not only providing tax assistance to 'family' clientele but to a greater client base.

No longer able to do this from home, Henk moved the business to downtown Strathroy.

When Henk started to experience health issues, he was told he would need to slow down. Realizing they would need to bring someone else on board, Henk's daughter Lena Samplonius was hired in 2005. She had taken numerous tax courses in London, finishing with high grades, so it was a perfect fit.

As the business continued to experience growth yet again, the need for a clearer sense of direction and additional staff was recognized. It was at this point in 2007 the decision was made to transfer ownership of the business to Lena and her husband William

William came with the experience of having owned his own farming business since the age of 19, as well as a number of other jobs including a pastoral role in their church.

In order to support his family, William applied his life experiences to this venture to ensure the business would thrive. To that end he willingly rolled up his sleeves, worked long hours, not stopping until a problem had been resolved.

Since then, he has welcomed staff with the same mentality, which has blessed the business immensely, never compromising the business mission:

“Working hard to make your life a little less taxing.”
